Mumbai, Jan. 30 -- Maharashtra may soon have its first woman Deputy Chief Minister.

Senior leaders and a majority of MLAs from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) are reportedly pressing for the appointment of Sunetra Pawar, Rajya Sabha MP and wife of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, to the post. This has raised strong possibilities of her swearing-in in the near future.
