Mumbai, Oct. 12 -- Maharashtra State Deputy Chief and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday announced that per-day wages of home guards in the state will be increased almost double.

Fadnavis said on social media platform X, ''government order has been issued to almost double the salary of home guards in the state. From Rs 570 per day, it has now been increased to Rs 1083.''

Now this salary is the highest in the country.



Apart from this, the amount of various allowances has also been doubled. The gift allowance has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 200 and the food allowance from Rs 100 to Rs 250.

About 55,000 home guards in the state will benefit from this decision. This increase will be given from October 1, 2024 onwards.
