Kolhapur, Dec. 10 -- The second-seeded Maharashtra team won the gold medal in the girls' category of the National School Chess Championship for Boys and Girls under 19 years organized by the Indian School Sports Federation at Greenwood High International, School, Bangalore, by winning six out of six matches and remaining undefeated.
In a press release here, Bharat Chaugule, president of Chess Association Kolhapur, said that Divya Patil of Kolhapur won the individual gold medal by scoring five and a half points out of six while playing on the third board and played a major role in bringing the gold medal to Maharashtra.
