Mumbai, Jan. 21 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today staked claim to the post of Mayor of Mumbai even as his corporators who were holed up in Hotel Taj Land's End in Bandra West checked out after an official gazette notification was issued recognising them as an elected group.
"Sena workers believe that the top job of Mayor in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) should be with our party, since the late Balasaheb Thackeray's birth centenary year begins on January 23," Shinde said.
