Mumbai, Dec. 19 -- The first container of pomegranates from Maharashtra's current season was shipped to the United States on Friday via sea from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), marking a significant milestone in the state's agricultural exports. The development was announced by State Marketing Minister Jaykumar Rawal.
The consignment was processed at the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board's irradiation facility in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, before being dispatched.
