Mumbai, March 31 -- The case of the self-proclaimed godman Ashok Kharat from Nashik has sparked a major political row in Maharashtra.

Following the shocking revelations of over 100 sexual assault videos and financial fraud, a heated exchange of words has broken out between State Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal and Minister for Women & Child Development Aditi Tatkare.

Sapkal today slammed Ms Tatkare for her perceived "silence" on the matter. He accused the Minister of being "missing" while cases of atrocities against women (such as the Kharat case and the Adarsh Mhatre case) are rising across the state.
