Pune, June 18 -- The Maharashtra government has appointed Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Nitin Shankar Vaidya as a member of the Governing Board of Services Preparatory Institute (SPI) at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for next five years.

Air Vice Marshal Vaidya, a resident of Pune, is the Vice President of Maharashtra and Goa State of All India Pre-Servicemen's Service Council.

All India Pre-Servicemen's Service Council is an organisation of registered and centrally recognised ex-servicemen, Army, Navy and Air Force retired soldiers, which works for the welfare of the families of brave wives and brave mothers at the national level, said a release here on Wednesday.
