Palghar (Maharashtra), Feb. 12 -- Police have detained more than 150 Nigerian nationals during what officials described as the largest crackdown against illegal foreign residents and drug peddlers in the district.
The extensive combing operation began on the night of February 10 and continued until Wednesday afternoon, following specific instructions from Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Purnima Chougule Shringi. A heavy police force cordoned off several localities in Nalasopara East and carried out door-to-door searches through the night.
