Nagpur, Dec. 31 -- The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has acquitted alleged Naxalite Anil alias Rasool Sukanu Sori alias Sudhakar Shankar Sori (28), who was accused of killing two policemen in Gadchiroli, due to lack of substantial evidence.
Justices Anil Panasare and Raj Wakode passed the judgment.
Sori, who is a resident of Chhattisgarh, had been convicted by the Sessions Court.
On March 22, 2015, while an anti-Naxal operation was underway, about 60-70 Naxalites opened indiscriminate fire at a police team in the dense forest near Etapalli, in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli.
