Sangli, Jan. 31 -- Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister, Chandrakant Patil, on Friday laid emphasis on making the district 'drug free' and directed the police authorities to be vigilant in this regard.
Presiding over a review meeting of the law and order situation in the district at the police headquarters in the wake of seizure of huge quantity of MD drugs worth Rs 30 crore in Karve MIDC area near Vita city in the district on January 28, he said, "More focus is being placed on making the district a 'drug-free district' and the police system should be vigilant in this regard with thorough investigation and identify the root cause of the matter. Strict action should be taken against the culprits."
