Bhandara, Jan. 21 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a State GST officer while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000 at his office in Maharashtra's Bhandara district, officials said.
The accused has been identified as Manish Murlidhar Sahare (50), a State Tax Inspector posted in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) department.
He was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the ACB.
According to the ACB, the complainant's GST registration number had been closed in October 2025.
An online application was submitted on November 2, 2025, for reactivation of the registration.
Subsequently, the complainant was instructed by the GST office in Nagpur to submit the firm's ledger and pay the required dues.
