Akola, Feb. 13 -- A devastating fire claimed three lives in Adgaon Budruk village of Akot tehsil in Maharashtra's Akola district, officials said on Friday.

According to the officials, the blaze broke out on Thursday at around 7 pm at a rented house owned by Sheikh Ibrahim.

Among those who died were six-year-old Swara Prabhudas Solanke and 27-year-old Anil Ukarda Chavan, who were trapped inside the burning structure and succumbed to severe burns on the spot.

Ratna Ukarda Chavan (55), who sustained critical injuries, was initially rushed to Akot Rural Hospital.

As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Akola, where she later died during treatment.
