Ahilyanagar, April 1 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Akshay Kardile as its candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Rahuri Assembly constituency, following the passing of former MLA Shivajirao Kardile.
Several senior party leaders, including MP Sujay Vikhe Patil and Prajakt Tanpure, had expressed interest in contesting the bypoll. Vikhe Patil, in particular, had claimed to be a frontrunner for the ticket and, along with Tanpure, actively lobbied within party circles.
