Mumbai, Jan. 23 -- The Maharashtra government on Friday informed the Bombay High Court that Vikas Gogawale, son of Shiv Sena minister Bharat Gogawale, has surrendered before the police in connection with a clash during the Mahad Municipal Council elections in Raigad district.

Vikas surrendered a day after the High Court pulled up the state government for the delay in arresting him and other accused in the case and asked whether the rule of law prevailed in the state.

During the hearing, Advocate General (AG) Milind Sathe told Justice Madhav Jamdar that all the accused in the case including Vikas Gogawale and his cousin Mahesh surrendered before the Mahad police this morning.
