Mumbai, Feb. 23 -- The Maharashtra government has urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a probe into the plane crash that killed Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar last month.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday late evening that the state government had received a letter from the NCP seeking a CBI inquiry.
In response, the state urged the Home Ministry to hand over the case to the CBI. The case will now be investigated by the CBI, along with ongoing investigations by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the state CID.
