Latur, March 10 -- The family of a police constable from Latur who lost his life after contracting COVID-19 while performing official duty during the pandemic has been given financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh by the Maharashtra government. The compensation cheque was handed over to the family by Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe.
The assistance has been granted under a state government policy that provides financial relief of Rs 50 lakh to the families of police personnel who died after being infected with COVID-19 while performing their duties during the pandemic period.
