Mumbai, June 3 -- The Maharashtra government has disbursed Rs 49 crores as immediate assistance for the repair and reconstruction of collapsed houses due to damage caused by heavy rains in the state, Principal Secretary of Relief and Rehabilitation Department Sonia Sethi said at a state Cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.

Sethi said the previous Cabinet meeting on May 27 had suggested providing emergency funds for the repair and reconstruction of the collpased houses.

Accordingly, a fund of Rs 49 crore has been distributed. Rupees Five crores has been given to Konkan division, Rs 12 crores to Pune division, rupees five crores to Nashik division, Rs 12 crores to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, rupees five crores to Amravati division and ...
