Baramati, May 26 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday appealed to the citizens, especially those living in low-lying areas and where is possibility of heavy rainfall, to remain careful and take shelter in safe places.
Stay in touch with the local administration and follow their instructions and cooperate, said Pawar.
With the Monsoon entering Maharashtra, including Mumbai, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts.
There is a red alert for Sindhudurg district tomorrow, while a yellow alert has been sounded for Palghar.
