Mumbai, Jan. 27 -- The Maharashtra cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Tuesday approved the Metro Line 8 project to provide direct metro connectivity between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport, a move aimed at strengthening regional transport infrastructure.
Speaking after the cabinet meeting held at the Mantralaya in Mumbai, Fadnavis said the proposed metro corridor will have a total length of 35 kilometres. Of this, 9.25 km will be underground, and 24.636 km elevated. The line will have a total of 20 stations, including six underground stations and 14 elevated stations.
