Mumbai, April 26 -- A 34-year-old woman died, and six others were hospitalised after a fire broke out early Saturday morning in a Mumbai residential building located at Broke Land Building, near Ashok Academy Lane in Lokhandwala, Andheri (West).

The fire erupted around 2:39 am and was reported by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)'s Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) at approximately 3:13 am.

According to fire officials, the fire was confined to a flat on first floor of the ground-plus-eight-storey building. The fire affected electric wiring, electric installations, split and window AC units, wooden furniture, documents, mattresses, clothes and other household items.
