Pune, Feb. 14 -- Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-AP) leader Deepak Mankar today asserted that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar will assume the post of national president of the NCP following the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Mankar said that Sunetra Pawar has played a significant role alongside Ajit Pawar in expanding the party and contributing to social and national development. He expressed confidence that just as she handled the responsibility of Deputy Chief Minister, she would now take charge as the party's National President. He said that all party leaders and workers firmly stand behind her leadership.
