Kolhapur, March 1 -- Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said on Saturday that the hike in irrigation water tax, which was suspended till July 2025, will be extended further until a final decision is made.
Presiding over a review meeting of Canal Advisory Committee held at the district collector's office here, he said that the water tax was previously levied on farmers at Rs 1,122 per hectare and then it was increased 10 times and levied anew.
But the Mahayuti government has suspended the hike in water tax till July 2025, which will continue until a final decision is taken, he informed.
