Mumbai, Feb. 15 -- The Maharashtra government will shortly introduce one lakh bike taxis across Mumba Metropolitan Region (MMR), offering a cost-effective travel alternative.

A proposal is expected to receive Cabinet approval later this month, sources in state Transport department said here on Saturday.

The proposal includes both fuel-powered and electric two-wheelers and is expected to receive cabinet approval later this month.

According to reports, fares for bike taxis in Mumbai will be around 60 percent of autorickshaw or taxi fares and these services will be accessible exclusively via ride-hailing apps.
