Patna, March 24 -- Bihar Agriculture Department has announced a subsidy scheme for farmers engaged in the cultivation of Magahi and Desi betel (paan), aiming to boost production and enhance farmers' income.
Official sources said here on Tuesday that under the "Paan Vikas Yojana," the Directorate of Horticulture has invited applications from eligible farmers.
As per the scheme, a maximum subsidy of Rs 11,750 will be provided per 100 square meters of cultivation area.
The initiative is expected to strengthen betel leaf production in the state while offering financial support to farmers.
The online application process has already begun and will continue till April 20.
