Chennai, March 28 -- The Madras High Court on Friday granted an interim anticipatory bail, while restraining the Mumbai police not to arrest popular stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra in a case relating to his controversial remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The 36-year-old comedian had made some slanderous comments against Mr Eknath in his latest comedy show titled 'Naya Bharat', following cases were booked against him by the Khar Police in Mumbai.

In a petition filed by Kunal seeking an inter-state anticipatory bail to enable him to file a petition in the Bombay High Court praying for a regular bail, Mr Justice Sunder Mohan of Madras HC ordered issuance of notice to the Mumbai police, returnable by April 7...
