Idukki (Kerala), Jan. 25 -- Senior CPI(M) leader and former Kerala minister M.M. Mani has landed in fresh controversy after making strong and threatening remarks against former party colleague and ex-Devikulam MLA S. Rajendran, who recently defected to the BJP.
Mani's statements, made at a public meeting in Munnar, have sparked sharp reactions across the political spectrum, with opposition parties accusing the ruling party of openly endorsing political intimidation.
Addressing party supporters, Mani on Sunday said Rajendran should be "handled" by comrades and remarked that there should be nothing the party should be afraid to do when someone challenges it.
