LVM3 rocket's success, a confidence booster for Gaganyaan mission, ISRO eyeing SSLV launch from new spaceport in early 2027

Sriharikota, Dec. 24 -- The success of India's heavy lift rocketlauncher LMV3, which had precisely injected the heaviest US Satellite BluebirdBlock-2 into the intended Orbit, will be a confidence booster for the future launchesincluding the maiden human spaceflight mission Gaganyaan, ISRO Chairman andSecretary, Department of Space, Dr V Narayanan said today.

He said ISRO is planning its maiden rocket launch from the second spaceport atKulasekarapattinam which is under construction in the southern Thoothukudi districtof Tamil Nadu, in February-March 2027.
