Lucknow, March 1 -- A first-year student at Lucknow University was found dead in his hostel room on Sunday morning in an apparent case of suicide, police said.
The student, identified as Naveen, was residing in a room at Subhash Hostel on the university campus, where he was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.
According to university officials, fellow students grew concerned when Naveen did not come out of his room for a long time in the morning. Despite repeated knocking and calls, there was no response from inside. University authorities were informed, and in their presence, the door was forcibly opened. Naveen was found hanging from the ceiling.
