Shimla, March 14 -- Concerns over a potential shortage of LPG cylinders in Himachal Pradesh, following strict enforcement of the Essential Commodities Act and limits on stockholding, are beginning to impact small eateries and tea stalls across the state, particularly in the capital, Shimla.

The uncertainty over supply has also triggered a surge in the sale of electric induction stoves and other alternative cooking appliances.

In the busy Lakkar Bazar area of Shimla, known for its traditional woodcraft shops and street eateries, at least two tea stalls reportedly shut their operations after running out of LPG. Small food vendors said delays in refilling domestic cylinders have disrupted their daily business.
