Amaravati, Nov. 17 -- The low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka continued to prevail at 0830 hours on Monday, according to the Meteorological Centre.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation, extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, also remains intact. The system is expected to move slowly in a west-northwest direction over the next 24 hours.
In its daily weather bulletin, the Met Centre said the northeast monsoon remains weak over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema.
Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next seven days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected at isolated locations during the same period...
