Shimla/Bilaspur(HP), Dec. 31 -- Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur on Tuesday participated in a protest organized by the BJP at Bilaspur against the increasing drug menace in the state, the "protection given to drug dealers by the government", and the cases filed against women patrolling to stop drug abuse in Bilaspur.
He termed the cases filed by the police against some women of the Mahila Mandal (women's group) who were patrolling in their panchayats against drug abuse as absurd, unfortunate and demanded their withdrawal.
