Thiruvananthapuram, March 7 -- Leading literary figures, led by Dr. George Onakkoor and V. Madhusoodanan Nair, visited Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan, presenting Nelkathir-a symbol of heritage and prosperity-and the state's official flower, Kanikkonna.
The delegation expressed their gratitude for the Governor's support in signing the Malayalam Language Bill.
Governor Arlekar highlighted the importance of all Indian languages as national languages and stressed that each state should promote its mother tongue in governance and education.
