New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- Despite light rain, air pollution persisted in the national capital on Sunday, even as a cold wave swept through the city, offering little respite from the poor air quality.
Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) showed that Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the "very poor" category across most parts of the city on Sunday morning, primarily due to elevated levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5).
Anand Vihar recorded the highest AQI at 363, followed by Siri Fort at 355. Other pollution hotspots also reported dangerously high levels: Wazirpur at 385, Dwarka Sector 8 at 343, and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 341 around 9 am.
