Beirut, Aug. 21 -- The Lebanese army said on Wednesday it has arrested three Palestinians at the entrance to the southern city of Saida in a security operation targeting militant groups.
In a statement, the army said the men were accused of involvement in multiple militant activities inside the Ain al-Helweh refugee camp. They are also wanted for smuggling weapons from Syria into Lebanon and for firing weapons, according to the army's Directorate of Guidance.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to monitor and dismantle militant networks, the army said, adding that investigations are under way under judicial supervision.
It said operations against militant elements and criminal activity will continue to safeguard public security. ...
