Baramati, April 6 -- In a significant political development ahead of the Baramati by-election, OBC leader Professor Laxman Hake has announced his withdrawal from the contest, a move that could pave the way for an unopposed election in the constituency.
Hake, who had reached Baramati amid growing political activity, held crucial discussions with senior leaders including Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne, former minister Dhananjay Munde, and leader Kiran Gujar.
During the meeting, the leaders reportedly requested Hake not to file his nomination papers in the interest of ensuring a smooth and uncontested electoral process.
