Aizawl, June 28 -- Authorities in Mizoram's Lawngtlai district are preparing to roll out the first phase of biometric registration for refugees from neighbouring Myanmar and Bangladesh, amid growing concerns over border security and accurate documentation.
Speaking at a meeting of the Lawngtlai District Level Committee on Refugees, Deputy Commissioner Cheemala Siva Gopal Reddy said the district administration would adopt a cautious and systematic approach, given Lawngtlai's sensitive position along the international border and the ongoing unrest in Myanmar.
