Johannesburg, Feb. 20 -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in South Africa's Johannesburg to participate in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the G20, scheduled for February 20-21, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Thursday.

During his several speeches at plenary sessions, Lavrov will give a detailed analysis of the international situation with a focus on the root causes of the crisis events and outline concrete steps to overcome destructive phenomena. The minister will also reaffirm the course on preserving the central role of the UN in world affairs.

Lavrov is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G20 ministerial meeting.
