Guwahati, Feb. 25 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday that the state government would start distributing land rights to the tea garden workers from March 13.
The Chief Minister said that the government is also trying to give a house to the beneficiaries along with the land pattas"We are starting the process of distribution of the land pattas to the tea garden workers from March 13. However, along with the land rights we also want to give them a house. So I am trying id we can give them at least a Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) house," he said.
The Chief Minister said he has already spoken to the central government on this and it has agreed to the proposal in principle.
