Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- National Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba on Wednesday lambasted the Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha for its failure to prevent the rising atrocities on women in the state.
Addressing newsmen here, Lamba said the condition of of women in Odisha is very precarious as every day seven women are sexually assaulted and four of them are minors.
She said as per the National Crime Record, Odisha topped in the crime against women in the country. Even the cases of the missing children are also alarming in the state, the Mahila Congress President said.
The state also tops in human trafficking and the majority of the victims of human trafficking are women, Alka Lamba said.
