Bhubaneswar, May 22 -- Odisha Congress in-charge Ajaya Kumar Lallu on Thursday criticized the BJP-led state government for providing only 11.25 percent reservation to SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) students in higher education.

Addressing the congress leaders and workers at a 24-hour dharna organized by the Odisha Congress, which demands 27percent reservation for OBC students in both education and employment, Lallu claimed the 11.25percent quota in education was designed to confuse and marginalize the OBC community.

He further pointed out that Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) have been granted only 20 percent reservation in fields such as technical, medical, and engineering education.
