Birmingham, March 7 -- Lakshya Sen stormed into the semi-finals at the All England Open Badminton Championships 2026 with a straight-games victory over world No. 6 Li Shi Feng of China in the quarterfinals on Friday.
The 12th-ranked Indian shuttler defeated Li 21-13, 21-16 in an hour-long men's singles contest at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, as per Olympics.com.
The win was particularly satisfying for Sen, who had been knocked out by Li Shi Feng at the same stage of last year's tournament.
Lakshya dominated the early exchanges of the opening game and entered the first interval with a five-point advantage. Although Li picked up the pace after the restart and began narrowing the gap, Lakshya responded strongly.
