Shimla, Dec. 9 -- With winter conditions intensifying across the high-altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh, the Lahaul-Spiti Police have issued a stringent road safety advisory for commuters travelling through tribal areas, particularly the Shinkula and Baralacha stretches.

The advisory comes in the wake of fresh snowfall and the formation of black ice, making several key routes highly unsafe for vehicular movement.

According to the police, nearly 5-6 inches of snow currently covers the Shinkula Road, significantly reducing traction for vehicles.

The situation is reported to be far more perilous beyond 18 Dett, where black ice has formed, creating extremely slippery surfaces.
