Patna, March 6 -- Umesh Singh Kushwaha was elected unopposed as the Bihar state president of Janata Dal (United) for the third consecutive term here on Friday.
State election officers Ashok Kumar ''Munna'' and Paramhans Kumar handed over the certificate of election to Kushwaha after the completion of the scrutiny process.
Earlier, Kushwaha had filed his nomination papers in four sets before the state election authorities. No other candidate filed nomination for the post within the stipulated time, after which he was declared elected unopposed following the formal scrutiny procedure.
