Hyderabad, April 17 -- BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Friday held the BJP responsible for the failure of the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament, alleging that the party derailed it by linking it with delimitation.
In a statement, he said all parties had supported women's reservation, but the BJP's decision to attach the contentious delimitation issue created complications and denied women immediate representation. KTR asserted that the Bill could have been implemented within the existing Lok Sabha strength without delays.
Accusing the BJP of using the issue for political gains, he said the move also raised concerns among southern states over possible loss of representation.
