Kolkata, Sept. 22 -- Three armed robbers, wearing black masks, looted jewellery and cash worth an estimated Rs 50 lakh from a shop in Tamluk, East Medinipur, today, police said.
The incident occurred in broad daylight as the owner and his workers were opening the shop. The miscreants held them at gunpoint and tied them up with ropes. They then took all the jewellery and cash before fleeing the scene.
To scare away onlookers, the robbers fired shots into the air as they escaped.
