Narayanpet, Feb. 11 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday visited the family of Erukala Mahadevappa (48), a BJP councillor candidate from Ward No. 6 in Maktal Municipality, who died by suicide on Tuesday.

Meeting the bereaved family at Maktal, the union Minister expressed deep anguish over the incident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences.

He assured the family that the Bharatiya Janata Party would stand by them in this difficult time and handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh as financial assistance to Mahadevappa's family members.
