Bengaluru, Oct. 22 -- Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw today dismissed as fabricated reports that she offered to repair roads in Bengaluru, reacting directly to a tweet by former finance minister P Chidambaram.
Chidambaram had tweeted that he noted "with interest Mrs Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's offer to fund the development of some roads in Bengaluru" and called it a "great offer."He suggested a model where public funds and tendering processes remain under government control, while a willing industrialist or company like Mazumdar-Shaw supervises the contractor to ensure quality and timely execution, bearing any penalties or cost overruns.
He suggested Bengaluru or Chennai as suitable cities to pilot such an approach.
