Jammu, July 25 -- Jammu District Magistrate today ordered a Magisterial Inquiry into the incident in which a youth was killed in cross-firing at Surey Chak in Phallian Mandal here in the city outskirts.
In an official comminique, following the incident, an FIR has been registered at Police Station Satwari under Sections 109(1), 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3/27 of the Arms Act.
Taking a serious note of the incident, as reported by Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, the District Magistrate has initiated a Magisterial Inquiry to ensure a fair and impartial examination of the facts and circumstances leading to the incident.
The inquiry will be conducted by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jammu South.
