New Delhi, Jan. 22 -- Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said the killing of 'Anal alias Patiram Manjhi', who was a notorious Naxalite Central Committee member, and also 15 other naxalites in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, is a major success in operations against leftwing extremism.
According to Shah, Patiram Manjhi carried a bounty of Rs 1 crore on his head, and was killed on Thursday in the joint operation by the Central Reserve Police Force and Jharkhand Police in the West Singhbhum.
"We are committed to eradicating naxalism before March 31, which has been synonymous with fear and terror for decades," Shah stated.
