Imphal, Feb. 4 -- BJP's Manipur Legislature Party leader Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Wednesday met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Lok Bhavan and formally staked his claim to form a BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state.
Khemchand Singh was accompanied by BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, BJP northeast coordinator Dr Sambit Patra, Manipur BJP state president Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, and other NDA leaders during the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Khemchand Singh arrived at Imphal airport after being unanimously elected leader of the NDA legislature party on February 3, marking a decisive step towards the formation of a new government in the violence-affected state.
